BS: Harold Pinter

It has been reported that Harold Pinter, dramatist, playwright and actor has been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus, the same condition which caused the death of John Thaw. Pinter who was born in 1930 has such great works to his credit as "The Caretaker" and "The Birthday Party." His film work includes "The Servant" and "The French Lieutenant's Woman" to name but a few. My prayers are with him in the hope that he makes a recovery.

Here is a review from the very start of Harold Pinter's theatrical career: Hackney Downs Grammar School, March 1947: "Master Harold Pinter made a more eloquent, more obviously nerve-racked Macbeth than one or two professional grown-ups I have seen in the part."

Signs already of what was to come. And long may he continue to enthrall and inspire.
