Subject: calling Cheshire callers From: Llanfair Date: 16 Mar 02 - 10:29 AM My sister is helping to organise a ceileigh in Pickmere, near Knutsford, Cheshire, and needs a caller. The event is to be held in July, and they have the use of a "proper", ie working, barn. The dance is to fit in between the last of the potatoes going out, and the first of the hay coming in. Anyone interested? Accommodation is available. And beer. Cheers, Bron. |

Subject: RE: calling Cheshire callers From: Pied Piper Date: 15 Jun 02 - 07:23 AM Hi Bron I live in The Peoples Free Democratic Republic of Eccles. Your sisters Ceilidh sounds interesting. I remember visiting Pickmere regularly as a kid ( a sort of 50's fare with boats). It lasted right into the 80's, until the posh folks stole it. I went there a few years ago and it was locked up, with guard-dogs on patrol. I play Recorder, whistle, Highland Pipes, Bombard, rhythm acoustic Guitar, and have wide experience in Ceilidh bands. If you need a player PM me. All the best PP |

Subject: RE: calling Cheshire callers From: Llanfair Date: 15 Jun 02 - 08:59 AM As I said, my sister's "Do" was last week, HOWEVER, if you fancy a weekend in darkest mid-Wales at the end of July, I'm organising some music for a local Twmpath. We have local musicians, but only the fiddler can do dance tunes. PM me if you fancy it. Cheers, Bron. |
