Hope that caught your attention!...I, of course, love folk music and my Mudcat friends. This is MY favorite form of music. However, I also love ALL other forms of music (with the exception of acid rock). Meanwhile, I have come across someone who is a great musician on an electric guitar who really loves "sweet" music, like big band tunes, pop music like "I left my heart in San Francisco", Ramblin' Rose by Nat King Cole, etc.. Although I appreciate some of that, I am not familiar with any sites up here on the net that specifically deal with that kind of music. With the vast muscial knowledge of my Mudcat friends out there, can you suggest some places he can go? (Keep it clean...!, Hah) Thanks, Keep on the Sunny Side! Gary

Don't like acid rock, Gary? You mean, like Jefferson Airplane? I really like them. Grace Slick had a wonderful voice back then. Here are a couple of excellent sites for your friend:

#1 Songs 1930-89

Rabid Squirrel's Jazz Archive

Jen's Lyric Underground

Be sure to check out all the links Jen provides. Hope that helps.

Jefferson Airplane acid Rock?? I never thought so. I always thought they had a 'sweeter' sound than what we call acid rock. Will this start a discussion on the definition of acid rock (on a folk and blues forum!!)?

paraphrasing the words of Walt Kelly ...I always thought rock was only half-'acid'..(you gotta say it out loud)

Remember the Jack Acid Society...headed by Bobby Base? Walt/Pogo had fun with this for months...

A common phenomenom on USENET is trollers. They'll say anything to get a lot of blather going. The bigger the blather, the more fun they have. Can you spot a troller among the previous posters? :-)
