Eartha Kitt does "Angelitos Negros" so well but I want to get the lyrics. I have searched the web for hours with no luck. Is there anybody out there(!) who has the lyrics? Please respond to alanm@admiral.bc.ca

Ah Mundo! La Negra Juana,
i la mano que le paso!
se le murió su negrito,
si, senor.
First verse of a long poem-song or:

Pintor nacido en mi tierra
con el pincel extranjero
Pintor que sigues el rumbo
De tantos pintores viejos.

I will email one or both.

Chords here: Angelitos
There may me more than one tune version of this poem by the Venezuelan, Andres Eloy Blanco. The song, as sung by Eartha Kitt and others, is a short, revised version of the poem.
If anyone discovers other chord patterns, please post.

More guitar chords (English) : Angelitos
These are based on Maciste version.

This one was quick and easy because the song is still popular in Latin America. The original poem also pops up quickly on Google because the author is well-known throughout the Spanish-speaking world, and multiple sites quote him.

Sing Out! printed this song back in the 1960s with a complete lead sheet (melody, chords, lyrics). Check www.singout.org for the exact issue. You might also be able to buy that issue there.

If you don't already subscribe you should so that years from now you will have the songs you will be looking for then.
