I am trying to find the music (preferably piano) and the lyrics for a song I suppose to be titled Ceilidh in the Glen. The chorus is what I think I know and goes: Oh my heart is sad, for leaving you today, but I know we'll meet again, when the sun is in the valley and the leaves are on the trees, and we come to a ceilidh in the glen. If anyone can help it would be great. Thanks :)

Haven't found music; but, for starters -

Whiskey in a Cup

Copyright © Raylene Rankin

Oh my heart is sad for leaving you today,
But I know we'll meet again,
When the sun is in the valley,
And the leaves are on the trees
And we come to ceilidh in the glen.

When the sun came up,
There was whiskey in the cup,
Not one o' us was sober,
Gerri thought she saw a picture,
When it was really was the sun,
Well, we knew the party was over,

Oh my heart is sad for leaving you today,
But I know we'll meet again,
When the sun is in the valley,
And the leaves are on the trees
And we come to ceilidh in the glen.

I haven't found music either. It's part of "Jigging Medley" on The Rankin Family. Written by Raylene Rankin.

I worked those words out a number of years ago.

Whiskey In a Cup

I suspect it was a written to a fiddle tune, to which Raylene Rankin wrote the song. I don't know anything more about the song other than that.
