From a suggestion of Mr Catspaw's, I would like to know how many mudcatters are telecasters, ie. have sung folk music on TV?

Does that include "short cuts" during the local news? If so, me. No solo gigs, concerts or specials, tho.

I know a mudcatter (if any such 'catters wish to ID themselves, let them do it!) who was on live television as part of a trio. They had been under the impression that they were going to be on radio, not TV, so when they got there, they were dressed in various ragtag outfits. Worse, they hadn't prepared themselves to do without sheet music and lyrics. And the TV station had no music stands to lend them. So they lay the paperwork on the floor in front of them.

They showed up in our homes, standing neatly side by side, heads bowed, eyes glued to the floor, looking at something out of our sight.

As someone once said, We get the neatest gigs!

Ebbie

LOL.......I don't recall suggesting this form of the word "telecaster"......but okay Craig, it's a good thread anyway.

If you count local community cable television, then yes, I have done that a couple of times.

My only appearances on commercial television have been: (a) in a video clip, taken from a helicopter, of a traffic accident scene wherein I was standing next to the car I was driving which had very nearly been struck by a school bus (BTW, it's true what they say: your life really does flash before your eyes when you know you're about to die!); and (b) in a video clip accompanying a news story about a sailing ship in the Philadelphia harbor that was decorated as a walk-through "Haunted Ship" for Halloween, wherein I was dressed as a witch and cackled at the camera.

Sharon --

Were you qualified for this position? Just so I know how to act, y'know....
