Hoffman is in the Twin Cities. I was unaware of belleville though.

Play it my basment is no long getting its remodeling work done as I was playing all weekend. My fingers are sore now. Glad to get to work & rest up so I can go home to play somemore.

I think he is(or used to be in the Twin Cities). The brand was Belleville & Hoffman at one time.

Being in Europe he is not a maker I have come across before. I visited his website and was very impressed with the design and quality of his work. It looks like you have made a fine choice and have an absolutely individual, totally handmade instrument to boot.

I've always counselled that one should buy "with their ears" as you have done!

Lots of happy picking!

Found the new guitar of my dreams this weekend.

A Hoffman concert 12. It is a 12 frett Grand Concert style w/cutaway. a dry tone w/ lots of sustain and wonderful treble. excellent clarity and complexity of tone, I like the phrase haunting.

Thanks to many Mudcatters on reminding me of the most important part of guitar purchases, my ear for my sound. Closing my eyes and throwing out at least most of my preconcieved notions of what I want and letting my ears decide for me.

I was looking at Collins, Santa Cruz, Lowden, Goodall, Taylor, and Martin. Started w/ dreadknots then to the OMS. Was all set to order a Collins OM2h when I heard this one and their was little question after that.

If someone told me they had a 12 frett cutaway grand concert that was perfect for me I would have laughed and never seen the guitar let alone have to get used to 1 3/4 neck to boot.

Thanks for the help on guitar number 4. I welcome Ltl Jenny to my home.

By the by has anybody heard of Charles Hoffman guitars before and your thoughts?
