I'm behind the eight ball on this. Our irrigation company is going to allocate water for this year and we, Jan and I, have to get the ditches cleaned prior to Monday. About a mile or so of weed choked, grass too high, and garbage that needs to be chopped, picked up, cut out, and hauled to the dump exercise in sweat.

We received very little water last year and need the ditches in the best possible shape to get what we can this year. So my weekend is either going to be in the ditch or taking Ibuprophen as a result of having been in the ditch. Ever taken your weedeater and walked a mile or so cutting down knee deep grass?? It's FUN!!!

So the Song Circle is going to need someone else to open and Admin it this Sunday. If our mare foals, due in the next week or so, I may be out of the loop on the Song Circle for some time. We've sold a horse and have three more to sell. After Socks foals we'll be able to work a bit harder on sales. This involves our weekends taking them places so folks can look at them. I had figured on working the room until early April from the outset and maybe this is the time to let anyone who wants to use it and this Fall we'll get fancy and formal again.

Let me know your thoughts - It's a Hoot - -

Steve

HeyaBro, sorry to hear this, BUT boy! do I remember those ditch-cleaning days! They didn't have weed-eaters, except the horses who didn't want THOSE weeds, so we not only shoveled, dug, etc., we also burned them out. Great swathes of billowing smoke and a scent I can almost conjure to take me back. I remmeber always wearing our cowboy boots, so that we could stamp out any tendrils of fire which tried to jump the *moat*. And foals! I hope you'll send me a picture or two! Dont' forget, if you can't sing for us, those babies will love it, too!

Thanks for all of the good work you've done in hosting so far. I'll be a bit out of it for the next few weeks with moving and all, but will enjoy popping in when I get the chance. You and Jan take care!

This is looking bad. I've only recently started visiting the circle and could only help look after it from at most 9pm-12pm UK time, but if that's the best offer we've got, it may have to do. (Also, my family are away this weekend and are due back - about 9pm Sunday!)

Surely, someone can make a better offer?

It's not a biggy - This is a Winter time thing and that it came back up is great. But with Spring in full bloom here it is going to be very difficult to keep it open so that everyone can be involved. It's my fault for the late request and I apologize for that. It seems Spring snuck up on me.

Kat - I'll send you some pics of the new one as soon as he/she makes their debut. And we are burning in the morning - provided the wind isn't too bad.

Take care all and we'll do the best we can.

Steve

Steve, if you'll PM me the admin code, I can open it and keep it going for at least the first few hours for the next few Sundays. We'll be gone the last two Sundays of May, and, on any Sunday, I have to sign off about 5:00pm Mudcat time, but maybe someone else could take it from there.

I'll try and get there to open it up, Steve, but it's a busy time of year for me too.
Once it's open, of course, it'll stay open until the last person leaves.

I figured there were enough folks out there that could get it started - I'll PM IvanB the code - and once started it should run on its own. Thanks Folks - And that isn't to say that if we get some weather that runs us indoors on a Sunday I won't cruise in and open it - The room really belongs to all of the Catters - any Catter can do it -

My life has been in incredible turmoil lately, but I'll make a special effort to drop in and out several times, probably the early shift, 1-3 Mudcat time. BUT ONLY ON ONE CONDITION ------ Ivan will sing Hard Times for us!

It usually starts about 6.00pm GMT but that is when the bratling is due back from her grandparents, so I may not be able to make it....

Got another throat infection myself, so won't be singing either.
