Subject: What Friends Do For Friends From: SINSULL Date: 24 Apr 02 - 05:21 PM I just spent two of the most excruciating hours of my life watching (cringing through) "Lobsteroids", Kendall's foray into the film industry. There is no describing this horror of a horror movie. I met the director. Even he had some difficulty explaining the premise. Apparently, he had access to a number of rock videos before they became popular and decided to put them all together into a film. But he had a limited budget and no story. Hence "Lobsteroids". But I asked for it. And only a true friend would drive an hour to an antique store that may not even still be in business to beg a copy of this film and then agree to sit through it with me. (Well, actually, he took a break and walked the dog during the jazz interval). Kendall, thanks for being there. |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: Stephen L. Rich Date: 24 Apr 02 - 05:30 PM That is, in the same stroke, fightening and reassuring. I never cease to be pleased, and amazed at the length to which some people will go to support thier friends. You are a very fortunate soul. |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: Morticia Date: 24 Apr 02 - 06:50 PM Considering Kendall admits to having some part in this atrocity, I think sitting through it with you is the least he could do, Seamus' needs not withstanding.....so how awful was it? |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: Amos Date: 24 Apr 02 - 06:52 PM SINS, What was Kendall's part in the alleged atrocity, exactly? :>) A |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: kendall Date: 24 Apr 02 - 07:14 PM I was the storyteller/narrator. Did the voice over, and had no clue just how bad it would be! Yes, Doug, I admit it; I have a weakness for lobsters. This is, without question the worst film I ever saw. Sinsull, I did not twist your arm! You wanted to watch it. |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: catspaw49 Date: 24 Apr 02 - 10:09 PM And now out of pure friendship.....and a serious need for laughter filling most waking moments.....I would ask where and how one might go about acquiring a copy of this obvious turkey? Is this possibly worse than "Plan Nine from Outer Space?" Spaw |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: SINSULL Date: 25 Apr 02 - 12:34 AM I did ask for it, Kendall. And as a true friend, you gave me what I asked for. Even warned me that I didn't really want to see it. This turkey makes Plan Nine look like an Oscar contender! For example: Dr. Malverna Practice runs the research center and the local newsman is a Howard Cosell rip-off. Tongue is planted firmly in cheek throughout. But 95% of the movie is badly filmed rock videos with sound quality that leaves the question of talent unanswered. Big on noise...the lobsters turn ugly whenever they hear rock and roll. And the finale is a rip-off of Jaws II with people running around a beach eating huge chunks of lobster meat. I swear to you that Kendall's voice over is the only redeeming feature of this extravaganza. Kendall's monlogue, in his matter of fact Maine accent, ties the whole mess together. Imagine Sir Lawrence Olivier telling the story of Monty Python and the Holy Grail as if it were absolute fact. |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: Stephen L. Rich Date: 25 Apr 02 - 01:03 AM That sounds wonderfully awful. |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: Big Mick Date: 25 Apr 02 - 01:49 AM Listen very carefully, Sins! I MUST have a copy of this "masterpiece". I will go to unheard of lengths to get one. It must be available someplace. Can you imagine the money we could raise in the auction? And the pure enjoyment we would all get out of watching it and reminding Kendall about it at every opportunity? I could sell 15 copies in Toronto without even trying. Find the source, woman!!! Mick |

Subject: RE: BS: What Friends Do For Friends From: catspaw49 Date: 25 Apr 02 - 08:06 AM Will he sell it and for how much? Can't you just see about 15 or 20 orders showing up?
