This is in addition to whatever Midwest gathering may materialize as a result of the other thread.

How many Mudcatters are planning on attending the world's largest Irish Music Festival? Seems like we ought to plan a meet and session during the weekend at some point. It's never too early to make plans, especially for this one. The rooms are going very fast.

Got to get to my gig.

All the best,

Mick

Definitely a great festival. The caliber of music is always good - ten stages of folk music, good beer, and many bands FROM IRELAND. One of my favorite bands that I've seen there is the group Dervish. There are also tents for poetry and theatre for the more lofty. I would love for there to be a meeting place for MudCatters in this environment, for there would be no better a place!

I went last year to see all of the great entertainment, but ended up singing in the Hibernian tent for enjoyment with groups of people from all over the world. It was a great time, but I regret not seeing more acts.

You know, I've always been puzzled ny the song "What made Milwaukee famous (Made a loser out of me)." I have often wondered exactly what it was that the singer was refering to. Is this possibly the answer to my quest??? ;-)

Cheers

C'mon, Dave, where the hell is that old sense of adventure? Sink a few quid and catch a plane. If you can't make that one, then come to the Getaway. Be a sport...................LOL.

What'll you have? Pabst Blue Ribbon What'll you have? Pabst Blue Ribbon What'll you have? Pabst Blue Ribbon Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer.

Pabst - The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous

(won Blue Ribbon at World's Fair, S. Louis? or Chicago?)

Boy, the mind is a terrible thing to lose! Singing it to myself I realize it is a variant of Ten Little Indians. What'll you have? sung like 'one-little, two-little'

OLD TIME FLAVOR! (a variant response, in place of Pabst Blue Ribbon) sung like 'three-little indians'

if memory serves thier gold medal was from 1893, so that would make it the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago?
