Subject: Free Reed Compilation From: GUEST,John Of The Hill Date: 05 May 02 - 09:48 PM Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the collection 'This Label Not Removable.' I'm getting into a CD ordering mood. Thanks, John |
Subject: RE: Free Reed Compilation From: Nerd Date: 06 May 02 - 12:16 AM It's very good. There are some tracks that perhaps could have been left in the vaults, but most of it's very nice. A few of the "lost" Dransfield tracks (from Popular to Contrary Belief, but not on Up to Now) are on it, which is a big plus, plus lots of squeezebox stuff, etc. Defintitely worth the money! |

Subject: RE: Free Reed Compilation From: lamarca Date: 06 May 02 - 02:44 PM I enjoyed this compilation very much (but then, I like accordions and pink plastic lawn flamingos). It's a wonderful mix of Free Reed's stellar contributing artists - I plan to tape my copy so we can listen to it on long car trips. (BTW: I think medleys and compilations of different musicians make much better car tapes than single artist tapes - we get tired of listening to 90 minutes of just about anyone exclusively!) I'm really looking forward to Neal Wayne's upcoming Revival Masters sets of John Kirkpatrick and Ashley Hutchings, too. |
