We've just returned from the tropical Top Half at Mary River Park, out of Darwin - had a FABULOUS time, singing and meeting up with our old Territory Mates - wonderful, generous people!! Looking forward to the desert version next year.
A big THANK YOU! to you all, from the members of Work-in-Progress and Fine Cotton and the Noel Gardner Trio.


(I guess we shouldn't go on about it too much though - I think they'd prefer to keep it "small"!!!)

Have just attended the Top Half Festival for the first time. Absolutely fantastic - small size, great acts, stupendous sessions plus the warmest reception from the locals. Many thanks for a truly great festival. You should stand very proud.

... Of course If I'd remembered that I spent a long time on a totally new innovation ... a database of neg numbers, subjects, venues & dates for the event ... I'd have popped into the database (when I remembered where I put it ...), typed "bloodwood ... and it would have told me:

020401b22 / Bloodwood / Budawang / The Awards / 01.04.02

and I would have been back much faster!

Oh well ... I might remember it next time.

Thanks for a great pic of Bloodwood - I've whacked it onto the front page of the Top End Folk Club website.

I note the extra mike on the stand for the lagerphone, what a good idea, hafta get me one of them.

Fellow 'catters, Bob is a gem - to find this particular pic - it was negative 365 out of 369! Why are things always in the last place you look...

The 32nd Top Half Folk Festival
NT Australia
Queen's Birthday Weekend 2002
June 7th - 10th
Celebrating 'Year of the Outback'

This year the festival is presented by The Top End Folk Club with the assistance of The Mary River Park and Folk Clubs associated with the Top Half Folk Federation.

The Festival this year will celebrate 'The Year of the Outback' by focusing on singers and songwriters from the Northern Territory.

Alice Springs artists, Ted Egan and Bloodwood along with other Territory artists, will feature at the festival, presenting workshops and concerts.

The Top Half Folk Festival is always a great Festival - lots of laid back fun with great sessions. This year, the Festival is being held at the Mary River Park - Arnhem Highway NT.
