From: Max Date: 19 Apr 98 - 09:45 PM Ok, guys the mudcat web site is now on a machine with two 333Mhz CPU's and 512MB of RAM. 666Mhz of multiprocessing, multithreaded computing power, and enough ram for the whole website to be in memory. Are T1 is in place and functioning very well. This is the best our setup has ever been. Let me know how its doing. |

Subject: RE: The Mudcat has a new home!! From: murray@mpce.mq.edu.au Date: 23 Apr 98 - 01:03 AM I have noticed two differences in the recent behaviour of mudcat compared to, say a month ago. First. I am unable to reset the cookie. I usually do that when I switch browsers, now when I hit the reset cookie button, it gives me a window and responds by saying I am Murray Adelman etc---But I still can't use my personal page. I get the message saying I have to join first. Secondly, (and this is why I have posted it rather than sending it as a personal message to Max :) When I use the menus to choose a recipient for a personal message, netscape crashes just as the name is choosen with the mouse. What I want to do is upgrade to netscape 4 and see if this second problem vanishes. It is not that I don't trust the folks at netscape, but I would rather get my text browser working before I do that--hence the first problem. Murray |
