All these Mudcat birthdays - IanB, Kendall, Me, Lucy (Hawker) and Aine.. and looking at the "official" list of birthdays on this site, there are plenty more birthdays just been and to come who are all born under the Bull.

What I am wondering is, how many more closet Taureans are there in Mudcat ? Is anyone astrologically minded who can offer an explanation ? I have a feeling that it may turn out that there are more Taureans among the 'Catters than any other sign: music and tradition, good company,the opportunity to voice our (sometimes !) tenaciously-held viewpoints, a good laugh, all in the comfort of our own home with a cup of hot chocolate ... all things that we Taureans hold so dear, and just what Mudcat provides !

Also celebrating their birthdays today, incidentally, are Donovan and Bert Weedon and ... not forgetting that Great Rock Legend, Maggie Thatcher's husband, Denis. Now, I wonder what his Mudcat name is ??

Well, my twins were supposed to be Leos, but they were so premature they didn't even make it to Gemini (which would have been funny) - so they are Taureans who ought not to be... does that count? And Happy Bday Donovan!

The planet Venus is said to rule music, astrologically speaking. Venus is said to rule two signs, Taurus and Libra. So that would explain any preponderances of Taureans and Librans in a music setting.

(My son, Colin, is a Taurus, as is my dad who just turned 85 on the 8th. My premature twin grandsons were born under Gemini!LOL!)

Taurean myself.Taurus is said to be the sign of musicians,especially singers.Taurean singers have usually a very warm "earthy" voice.Folk is a very taurean kind of music.I was born may 19 and I believe in astrology :)

Taureans tend to value and become a bit obsessive about their possessions. They like things of high quality and often go to great lengths to obtain something special. This derives from Venus' love of beauty and pleasure, but is tempered with the Bull's steadfast, earthbound, possessive quality and the Earth element's focus on hearth and home. Collectors they are, and sometimes prone to drool over mail order catalogs.

Libra, on the other hand, ruled also by Venus, loves beautiful things and acquiring possessions...but, tempered by the balance of the Scales and the Air element, Librans' love of possessions pertains only the to physical beauty or pleasingness of the item, not its intrinsic value. When I was seventeen or so, (rather a long time ago) there was a group of six of us who hung round together, all Taurus. You could hear the mooing for miles.

I married a Taurian, Angela 12/5 I'm 19/5. It think it's 'cause we like the same things, food etc...
