Subject: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: Jeanie Date: 10 May 02 - 12:30 PM All these Mudcat birthdays - IanB, Kendall, Me, Lucy (Hawker) and Aine.. and looking at the "official" list of birthdays on this site, there are plenty more birthdays just been and to come who are all born under the Bull. What I am wondering is, how many more closet Taureans are there in Mudcat ? Is anyone astrologically minded who can offer an explanation ? I have a feeling that it may turn out that there are more Taureans among the 'Catters than any other sign: music and tradition, good company, the opportunity to voice our (sometimes !) tenaciously-held viewpoints, a good laugh, all in the comfort of our own home with a cup of hot chocolate ... all things that we Taureans hold so dear, and just what Mudcat provides ! Also celebrating their birthdays today, incidentally, are Donovan and Bert Weedon and ... not forgetting that Great Rock Legend, Maggie Thatcher's husband, Denis. Now, I wonder what his Mudcat name is ?? Three cheers for all Taureans ! - jeanie

Subject: RE: BS: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: Mrrzy Date: 10 May 02 - 12:33 PM Well, my twins were supposed to be Leos, but they were so premature they didn't even make it to Gemini (which would have been funny) - so they are Taureans who ought not to be... does that count? And Happy Bday Donovan! |
Subject: RE: BS: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: Cappuccino Date: 10 May 02 - 12:57 PM Personally, I think being a Taurean is a load of bull. - ian B (Oh dear, did I really write that?!!!) |
Subject: RE: BS: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: GUEST Date: 10 May 02 - 01:02 PM The planet Venus is said to rule music, astrologically speaking. Venus is said to rule two signs, Taurus and Libra. So that would explain any preponderances of Taureans and Librans in a music setting. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: Peg Date: 11 May 02 - 09:57 AM Taureans tend to value and become a bit obsessive about their possessions. They like things of high quality and often go to great lengths to obtain something special. This derives from Venus' love of beauty and pleasure, but is tempered with the Bull's steadfast, earthbound, possessive quality and the Earth element's focus on hearth and home. Collectors they are, and sometimes prone to drool over mail order catalogs. Libra, on the other hand, ruled also by Venus, loves beautiful things and acquiring possessions...but, tempered by the balance of the Scales and the Air element, Librans' love of possessions pertains only the to physical beauty or pleasingness of the item, not its intrinsic value. You get a lot of trash-pickers and thrift-shoppers among Librans! peg

Subject: RE: BS: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: Escamillo Date: 13 May 02 - 06:29 AM Scientifically, I can only conclude that couples who carry the gen of musicians have a tendency to get most romantic by the second half of the summer in the North. It has been written in the erotic poems of Orff's Carmina Burana: "Omnia Sol temperat, puris et subtilis.." (Pure and subtle, the Sun warms up everything) :) Un abrazo - Andrés |
Subject: RE: BS: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: DMcG Date: 13 May 02 - 06:33 AM Escamillo has it, I think. All those August Festivals and so forth. Of course, a true folkie should be nine months after May 1st ... |
Subject: RE: BS: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: GUEST,ozmacca Date: 13 May 02 - 07:36 PM Well, I've never been sure about wether to believe in astrology. Just the same as I've never really believed in re-incarnation. And I didn't believe in that last time either. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Great Taurus Conspiracy From: Burke Date: 13 May 02 - 07:52 PM April 30. I know I'm Taurus & that's all I know, or care to know about it. I've never bothered with astrology. I opened the thread wondering why someone would call Ford car a conspiracy. |
