Julian Lennon? I was just thinking of musician spawns today...Bob Dylans boy made out pretty well, but Johns kid (though his voice was nearly an identical clone of his fathers) seemed to fade away in fairly short order.

What of other famous musicians kids, too? Any spawn from other Beatles that ever did any recording? Anyone else of any note?

But please...no "Nancy Sinatra" news...ick! ;D

Well, Ringo's son Zack is a very heavy drummer. I saw him play with The Who last year, and he did the Keith Moon bit to the hilt.

I found Julian Lennon's sound a bit too close to his dad's for comfort. It didn't feel like he was making his own music, rather copying his father and for me there could only be one. Another son of a famous dad that disapeared is Chesney Hawkes, son of Chip Hawkes of Tremoloes fame(now I'm showing my age). Sat next to this "spotty kid" on a flight from London to New York when he was "popping over for a couple of days in the studio" and couldn't help thinking he wouldn't have even got his foot in the door if it hadn't been for his dad. He had the resigned air if someone who'd seen it all and done it all before which didn't sit well on a kid who looked like he'd just got into long pants.

John Kirkpatrick's spawn seem to be doing fairly well too (they showcased as 'the Allstars), last seen doing the music for a Schools programme on English Folk Dancing.

Dweezil, MoonUnit and Homit -- I guess a couple of them had a gig on some MTV game show, don't know if it's still on. Frank was an impossible act to follow.

I seem to recall that David Peggs kid has toured with Tull a couple of years ago, filling in dates that his dad couldn't make...

As far as J Lennon goes, I had mercifully forgotten he even existed until this thread brought the memory back...

...and Tom Jones was a fantastic banjo picker before he got into the "What's New, Pussycat?" crapola. In fact, Big Jim Sullivan and Jones had an acoustic group together called "Cows on LSD" in the very early 60's.

Had he not fallen for the sex-symbol image and been corrupted by dollar signs, Jones would probably be discussed regularly at the Mudcat Cafe for his contribution to acoustic music!
