Subject: RE: BS: On This Day: Brown v Bd of Ed Decision From: GUEST Date: 20 May 02 - 10:18 AM While I understand the connection you're trying to make Spaw, I think you are comparing apples and oranges, and deciding they are all really pears. I don't think you can equate educational segregation by gender (which was never enshrined in the law) with the complete segregation of blacks at all levels of society, by race. I included the curious information about the 1987 "accidental" bombing of a US ship in the Persian Gulf by Iraq as a reminder of how different the world is pre and post Shrub I's presidency. I'm so pleased that Shrub IIs plans to finish the job daddy failed at, have gone horribly awry in the last month. The Palestinian-Israeli war may turn out to be the silver lining for the entire Middle East, if it means it will keep the US out of what surely would be a bloodbath (both American and Arab) in Iraq. |
