does anyone know if the theme music is a traditional tune or something composed for the series? and does anyone have the music?

Hi Alison, from what I can gather, the theme music was written by John Lunn who also writes music for operas. It's a start.

There was also a good tune written for the new series of 'the Vital Spark' I think that was by Phil Cunningham if anyone's got that out there.

Good luck, Alison. I loved the music to another BBC production for tv a few years ago. Wrote to them and all I got were their regrts that they had nothing to offer of his, at that time. I am pretty sure it was the same composer. I looked a lot on google, yesterday. Found quite a bit referring to his opera stuff, as Mets noted, but not much else, just a mention in an article or two, and on BBC America, that he was the one who wrote it. Sheesh, have these people never heard of promotion!*bg* Oh, one other clue...it was the London Metropolitan Orchestra which recorded it for the tv show. Maybe THEY could help?

He's done the music to quite a few programs. The one I wanted to get was for Second Sight. Anyway, here's a link to the LMO's contact page.

Was that the one done by the group Iron Horse? I have a CD of theirs and I know they did some TV work but can't remember which programme.
