Subject: RE: Help: Dulcimer strings From: JohnInKansas Date: 30 May 02 - 05:31 PM I've had the problem on one of my instruments, and found that I could salvage a "ball" from another string, slip it into the loop, and with only moderate dexterity get it to work quite nicely. You may have to hold it together until you get a little tension on the string. This may not work with all kinds of balls, and you can't do it if you don't have the balls for it, but... Subject: RE: Help: Dulcimer strings From: katlaughing Date: 30 May 02 - 03:20 PM There's one set at Elderly Instruments which doesn't say "loop end." You might call them and ask. Also, Spaw told me it was okay to use banjo strings. I have with no problem, so maybe you can find them with ball ends, more easily? I look some more, too. oops, did you mean mtn. or hammer? kat |
Subject: RE: Help: Dulcimer strings From: Sorcha Date: 30 May 02 - 03:19 PM Aha! Click here! It says "please specify if you want ball end" |
Subject: Dulcimer strings From: GUEST,Walking Eagle Date: 30 May 02 - 03:05 PM I need help in finding ball end dulcimer strings. Everywhere I check, I only find loop end ones. Unfortunately, I cannot use loop ends on one of my instruments. I'd prefer websites so I can order online. I checked Juststrings.com. No dice. Thanks for your help. W.E. |
