It's out of print now but Amazon and a few other entities have it available. The Diana Singing replaced it this year, not a good change IMO. |

Not sure of the title. My father in law would like to find a copy if it is print? If it is in a hymnal or not? If so which one? He is 82 and I would love to find him a copy even if it is just a copy of the lyrics if some would have a copy. He remembers Harkins Frye teaching it to a singing school that he put on when he was young (around 9-10 years old). I would love to get him a copy of it. I have been looking with no avail. So, it's pretty clear that the songwriter for "Time Has Made a Change in Me" is Harkins Frye, published by Stamps Quartet Music Company. Apparently, Stamps Quartet Music is a label of the Nelon Music Group. Licensing is through http://www.ClearBoxRights.com - but I can't get a response from ClearBoxRights to verify that. |

I know that Jimmy DeBerry recorded a song listed as 'Time has Made A Change" during one of his two Sun sessions in 1953 and that the song was issued in June of that year on Sun 185. It seems that his recording was more in the Blues vein. Was this the same song? And is this the same song as is nowadays found in folk and gospel collections? He sings it splendidly. In the booklet notes Jerry says '...... I learned 'Time Has Made a Change in Me' from the shape-note singing teacher, Richard Moss. Mr.Moss sang with an awe-inspiring, highly decorated, intense style that I can only echo..............It is among the most uplifting and unifying songs for a group of singers that I have ever heard' I agree, having heard Jerry, Jeff Warner, and Jeff Davis sing it at a club I once ran. Their lead and the response of a 100 strong audience is an abiding memory for me. Singout/Penny, find the chords by all means, but could I suggest you give a thought to singing it unaccompanied. It sounds wonderful that way. |

Volume 45#3 page 100 says you can mail a request to Shelley Posen Songfinder SingOut! P.O. Box 5460 Bethlehem, PA 18015-0460 with a SASE. The indication is that Mr. Posen is actually in Ontario, so it may not be quick, although it shouldn't be tough for them to reply since you've got the vol/issue and page number. Alternative - leave off the "Songfinder" and get the back issue. V35#1 is listed as available for $3.50 - features Katie Webster and Garnet Rogers. (see page 174 in V43#3) Then you'll post it all here, of course???? John |
