LJC - I don't think I'll ever forgive you. This means that I'll have to try even harder to prevent the Department of Domestic Arrangements from seeing a photograph of Scotland with a clear sky. She'd have me dragged back there in ten seconds flat if I didn't keep her half-way convinced that the blue skies are actually re-touched photos. Mind, she likes the cold and wants to see snow again and I keep telling her I'll put a chair in the fridge for her. Live camera shots will give the game away, and I don't think I could stand any temperatures less than 20 centigrade at mid-day....... Aye, jist keep that up an' ah'll mak shair that you git yours jimmy......

A favorite web cam (nowhere near where I live, but it has elements I like to look at) is at the Bureau of Land Management Office in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Look around in there and you'll find some panoramic shots, as well as some cached great views of the Aurora Borealis.

Little John...Thanks so much for this camsite...I don't know if I'll ever get to Scotland, much as i pine to go. But I've bookmarked this site so I can visit virtually whenever I need a change from the rolling golden hills of California.

There's also one here in Dunoon (Scotland): looking down Ferrybrae onto Argyll St (main st). Not very exciting, people and traffic, but better than nothing!

Hey Big Tim - I never knew you were a Dunoonian! My parents live in Dunoon - on Victoria Road, and my brother stays out at Hunters Quay.

In fact, I was down on Sunday/Monday.

Is there any folkie stuff going on there these days?

Cheers

Steven

SD: I've only been here a year, from Glasgow. Beautiful place, how I love getting on that ferry at Gourock or McInroy's Point. I'm on Bullwood Road. My wife's a volunteer in the Hospice and I always drive her there along Victoria Road! I'm out of touch with the folk scene but I do know that the Glasgow Hotel, scene of many a rousing and rowdy night, is closed and up for sale. I'll PM you my phone number, maybe we can meet up for a pint sometime.

I have to say that the webcam of Ferry Brae/Argyll Street in Dunoon is possibly one of the least exciting things I have ever seen. Considering that they could have shown a view up or down the Firth, West Bay, the pier, Maxwell's amusements for God's sake...

But no, we have that corner.....

However, whatever floats your boat.

Cheers

Steven
