Hi folks, I'm after the sheet music for The Poor People of Paris and a tune by the name of Villa or Vila. Is there anywhere on the internet I can locate these tunes? Brad

You'll find 2 guitar tabs for The Poor People Of Paris at:
Chet Atkins

and

Bill & Pat Taylor's (after Chet Atkins)

The English words are available at:

The Poor People Of Paris

And the French words can be found (as many can) at ABC de la Chanson Francophone - Paroles des Chansons Françaises by doing a search on "Goualante" in Titles (or "Piaf" in Artists). (French title: La goualante du pauvre Jean)

Is the tune you want Villafjord? (If so there are copies available online)

Mick

I have looked at my responses Joe. What else am I supposed to do. I'm not one hundred percent clear on how this site works. Thanks for telling emailing me anyway. Brad

Brad: the other tune wouldn't be Vilia by (I think)Franz Léhar, would it? About a man who falls for a wood-nymph...?

"Vilia" is as Steve says by by Léhar - from "The Merry Widow" . There seems to be a Chet Atkins version of it - as a zipped TEF (is that tablature ?) file on this site .

I've just noticed that if you click on the name of the song on the above site - rather than the icon with the notes next to it - you get a MIDI file.

Dave--the TEF files are in TablEdit format. If you play an instrument (almost any!) you can write Tab for it with TablEdit--it's highly reccommended.
