Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: bbc Date: 16 Apr 03 - 02:28 PM Poo! Silly goose that I am, I just looked at my calendar & realized that my second son in a row has high school graduation smack dab in the middle of the Old Songs weekend! I will try to come up for Saturday pm into Sunday, although I'd rather be there the whole time! best, bbc |

Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Susan A-R Date: 27 Feb 03 - 10:14 PM I got the program and got very excited, and then found out that one of my music buddies is getting married that weekend. The pressure's on for the entire jam session to attend the wedding, so it looks like I'll miss old songs. I HATE it when this sort of stuff happens, and my brother's getting married the weekend of Champlain Festival. Both couples have been living together for over 10 years. Can't these people just continue to live in sin? I ask you! |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Burke Date: 27 Feb 03 - 06:37 PM It turns out there's a conference I may need to attend for work that weekend. The program is not out yet, so I'll wait & see. My boss is on notice that I am unsure about going. |

Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Jeri Date: 26 Feb 03 - 06:04 PM Official campsites?!?! What the heck can they do - mark out tent-sized blocks with chalk? Silly idea. I wonder how the "Hey I got a spot by the back wall - wanna trade? There's a bunch of Woodchucks over there, scratching out tiny little doors in the chalk lines and their sites seem to be coagulating. I'm scared." or "I'll trade two campsites and a six-pack of Sam Adams for your spot by the porta-poopers." Gonna be interesting. I'm going because I always go ...and the lineup looks GREAT! |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Hollowfox Date: 26 Feb 03 - 05:33 PM The urchins and I will be there. Bill, will you be travelling anywhere else? I'm on the way to 'Spaw's house. |

Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: MMario Date: 25 Feb 03 - 09:00 AM I'm afraid I won't be there - once again, conflict with "the other job" |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: bigchuck Date: 25 Feb 03 - 07:53 AM Me too. Be aware that campsites are being assigned this year (as per the NY board of health), so it might be a good idea to get in early with payment. Sandy |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 25 Feb 03 - 07:30 AM Hey, Bill- the tradition was supposed to be to come home with me, until problems arose, remember? Thanks, Mary, for reviving this- my daughter and I are going this year, too (and Bill, the tradition really is that after bbc's, you come visit me!) |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: bill\sables Date: 24 Feb 03 - 05:42 PM I'm goin to try to get over but can't promise anything yet.Got to keep up the old tradition of staying with bbc & Duane afterwards Cheers Bill |

Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Susan A-R Date: 27 Jun 02 - 10:27 PM Things are mostly packed. I'll plan to stuff some stuffed grape leaves, sweet potato fritters, kahlua cookies and other odds and ends in the cooler with some Trout River (properly pronounced "trayout Riveh" and will hit the road around noon. See you all round abou 3:30 (or 5 if Pam and I do our usual forgetting, false starting, etc.) I am VERY excited!! |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Naemanson Date: 27 Jun 02 - 09:54 PM Weather? According to one site there is pouring rain tonight and then clear sailing until next Monday. But I also bought a raincoat... |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Jeri Date: 27 Jun 02 - 09:13 PM I'll be there tomorrow. Most of the stuff is in the car. I'll shove the instruments, clothes and me in tomorrow, and take off, eh? Should get there around 2, attempt to set up tent in a mad rush and head to the songwriting class. Hope the folks who are already there don't float away before I arrive! |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: SINSULL Date: 27 Jun 02 - 08:53 PM Whine! They started without me. I am leaving work early tomorrow. See you around 6PM with Pepsi (not Shipyard), chilled Pinot Grigio, and champagne. |

Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: kendall Date: 26 Jun 02 - 09:34 PM And, a long one it will be. I plan to arrive thursday and stay through monday. |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Midchuck Date: 26 Jun 02 - 09:28 PM Cooler space is a function of how fast the stuff we bring in the coolers gets consumed. This year we have extra help. Should not be a major problem. I should relate that "YoungChuck" gave an inventory of what equipment he was bringing (coming by plane, he had to be selective). He included a mechanical liver. His older sister, who is coming to her first Old Songs (dare I say..."DocChuck?") insisted that there was no such thing, and that if there were, her patients would be much happier. Her brother's response was: "I invented one, but the patent lawyers said they couldn't help me because it was just a beer can with a whistle glued to it." Barry, maybe you should try to talk the whole thing over with both of them. And that's what the weekend is going to be like. P. |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: SINSULL Date: 26 Jun 02 - 07:54 PM I am bringing the Shipyard and some Mumm's for the Saturday celebration. Can't promise a late night Friday - my day now starts at 5AM but Saturday I will watch the sun come up.Anyone playing taps? |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Jeri Date: 26 Jun 02 - 07:05 PM Barry, I'll sing as long as my voice holds up. (Actually what usually happens is I think I've lost it, keep going, and it winds up stronger than when I started.) Last year was the first year I can remember going to bed before it got light out... |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Barry Finn Date: 26 Jun 02 - 06:43 PM Is anyone planning on any late night sessions. Maybe it's me but it seems that the shades keep getting pulled eariler as time goes by. I'm getting to feel like a lonely lost soul doomed to wander the camp sites for music till the rising sun never being able to get more than a fleeting note out of the devil. Does a late night/early morning musical blast sound to much on the hearts of the wimpy? Any ideas besides go hug a tree? Barrywholovesingingtillthecowsdropdead. |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: DonMeixner Date: 26 Jun 02 - 06:40 PM So, Is everyone one bringing a sixer or two of the best local beer in the locality they are local too? Don |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Jeri Date: 26 Jun 02 - 06:31 PM Enkd, the major hazard here is when the other Chucks get out of line, people might expect you to Do Something. Personally, I won't hold you responsible. |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: SINSULL Date: 26 Jun 02 - 05:05 PM Remember "Youngblood Hawke", a trashy paperback in the 60s? How does Youngblood Chuck suit you? |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: enkd Date: 26 Jun 02 - 01:37 PM As I was typing that, I realized that I've been called much worse things than 'Chuck. And I'm old enough now that I certainly no longer resent being called Young... |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: MMario Date: 26 Jun 02 - 01:25 PM you just doomed yourself, you realize that? |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: enkd Date: 26 Jun 02 - 01:21 PM Oh, I'm not ashamed of my 'Chuckhood... Of course, I mostly lurk on the Mudcat as a way to keep tabs on my aging father, and see what sort of trouble he's getting himself into. So far his presance here seems to be mostly benign and usually contributory, with only the occasional fight-provoking inflammatory statements. Which is far better than the Internet average, so we're proud enough. the real issue is that usually my browsing time is limited at work, and I rarely feel like looking at a computer at home... I met a number of you at Old Songs last year, look forward to meeting more this year - my plane leaves in just over 20 hours... "Youngchuck" man, I hope that doesn't stick... |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Naemanson Date: 26 Jun 02 - 11:01 AM Oh Boy, this will be great! Is the going to be any cooler room at the Woodchuck compound for beverages or should I bring my own cooler? I'm figuring no more than a sixpack or two, for sharing as well as drinking. |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Midchuck Date: 26 Jun 02 - 10:56 AM If you were Descended From Woodchucks, would you want it noised about? P. |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: MMario Date: 26 Jun 02 - 09:09 AM What? Youngchuck is not happy with his 'chuckhood? For SHAME! |
Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Midchuck Date: 26 Jun 02 - 08:53 AM Actually, the younger chuck offspring is signed on, although he mostly lurks. I won't give his handle here, in case he doesn't want to be associated with Chuckery in the public eye...but he's coming. Peter. |

Subject: RE: Who's going to Old Songs? From: Naemanson Date: 23 Jun 02 - 09:05 PM Can't trade up on the 12. It's the best there is. But I have too many instruments and I thought I'd let go of the banj-itar. |
