Subject: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: Jeep man Date: 09 Jun 02 - 07:54 PM Folks, as of 7.30 PM today, June 8, my sweet wife has been married to me for 46 years. Yes I would do it again. I like to do something special on this day, last year I took her to Home Depot and toured the Power Tool Dept. Afterwards, we had a sumptious meal at McDonalds. This time I think something special would be a Howdy from our friends at Mudcat.Just notes to tell her She Done Good. Just send them here and I will let her read and reply. Thanks, Guys, Jim |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: CarolC Date: 09 Jun 02 - 08:09 PM What kind of power tool did you buy her last year Jeep Man? Routers are nice. Does she have a good router yet? I'm partial to routers, jig-saws, and orbital sanders myself. Maybe she'd like a good work bench to put all of the tools from previous years. Then again, there's a lot to be said for a really good air compressor. Lots of nice things to choose from anyway. Congratulations on your aniversary, Wife Whose Husband is Jeep Man! Hope it's a really good one. |

Now, I have to watch him as he likes my tools better, sometimes, than his!*bg* Congratulations, Shirlie & Jeep Man!!WOW! 46?!Fartrout, man!All the best...no, Jeep Man, I mean it, really, buy her all the best for this one!*bg* katsmilingandhopingshe&Rogwillmakeitto46! |

Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: Steve Parkes Date: 10 Jun 02 - 11:02 AM Mrs P and I only have 25 on the clock so far, but we admire the few who've still got the staying power. Well done, and keep going! Steve P.S. Sue layed a wooden floor all by herself (i.e. with help & advice from me) over the weekend. I'm very impressed, and I'm thinking of sending her out to work. |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: C-flat Date: 10 Jun 02 - 12:13 PM I've only clocked up 21years and they're not all to the same wife! So congratulations to you both! You'll need to start planning ahead for your 50th, maybe one of those big bench tools would be appropriate?.... |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: Bobert Date: 10 Jun 02 - 02:04 PM My condolenses, ahhh, strike that, congrates to you Shirley. Jus funnin'. You must be one heck of a gal. My wife, the P-Vine, wouldn't go for the Home Depot mini-vacation for out anniversary. Nope, not even once... Seriously. 46 years in these days and times says alot about both of you and your relationship so HAPPY, HAPPY HAPPY, HAPPY, HAP...... Bobert |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: katlaughing Date: 10 Jun 02 - 04:54 PM Steve, and you hope to make it another 25?!*BG* |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: fat B****rd Date: 10 Jun 02 - 05:17 PM Congratulations and many more happy years together. |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: GUEST,Greycap Date: 11 Jun 02 - 02:50 AM Shirlie, You get 5 stars for endurance and none for common sense - also he should have got you a Martin, then you'd have two in the house. bet the sumptious meal at McDonalds impressed you - was he always such a big spender? |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: Fortunato Date: 11 Jun 02 - 10:39 AM SHIRLIE! FORTY SIX YEARS? Lady, you don't serve that long for armed robbery. What's your secret for putting up with Jeepman for all those years? Anyhow, congratulations. My sweet wife and I were down your way at Mt. Airy last weekend, and you're having some fine weather in NC. I hope your anniversary is equally beautiful. Get the old Jeepman to spring for a dinner someplace where you can't hear the bell go off on the deep fryer and the waitstaff is out of high school. All the best. Chance |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: Ebbie Date: 11 Jun 02 - 11:53 PM Wonderful! Congratulations, Shirlee. Now, tell Jim it's time to loosen up a bit. You've already got all the memories from these 46 - the next 25 years need to be a bit more ornamental! (That said, I'll bet you two did go to a fancy, spiffy place. Unless you own that McDonalds?) |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: SINSULL Date: 12 Jun 02 - 09:25 PM Is the suggested gift for the 46th anniversary steel? Or grease? Happy Anniversary, Shirlie. Home Depot sounds like a better date to me than a day watching Jeepman push a ball around the green. But Mickey D's? Did he at least get you a chocolate shake? |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: Bat Goddess Date: 13 Jun 02 - 01:33 PM I think you both done good! Congratulations!!! Both Tom and I had to serve 10 year apprenticeships elsewhere before we got together a couple decades ago. Here in New Hampshire a chainsaw is considered a kitchen utensil although used in the yard, too. Tom does most of the kitchen work, while I pry the rocks out of the lawn (but not with a chainsaw). (Sinsull -- ever put a McFred's chocolate shake in a frying pan? I think it's some sort of plastic!) Mucho congrats, Jeep Man & spouse!!! (Jeep Man + Spouse = Spice, eh?) Linn |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: CarolC Date: 13 Jun 02 - 03:28 PM Musta been a hell of an aniversary. Neither one of them has come up for air in four days. |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: SINSULL Date: 13 Jun 02 - 03:34 PM No I haven't Linn...why did you? |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: Bat Goddess Date: 13 Jun 02 - 07:05 PM Re: the McFred's (Mickey D's) chocolate shake in a frying pan. No, actually, I haven't had the guts to try it myself, but I have it on reliable sources that it turns to a plastic like mass. (Which is different from Plastiklike, MA.) Linn |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: C-flat Date: 13 Jun 02 - 07:16 PM I'm a little worried that JeepMan has not returned! Could it have been one power tool too many? Maybe he should have gone for the Air Compressor..... |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: GUEST Date: 13 Jun 02 - 07:27 PM Jeep Man is alive and well. Shirlie has had a great time reading your mail and she thanks you all.She is a bit timid about email and such. Your comments and congratulations are so appreciated and well recieved, I may start another 46. Jeep |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: Joe Offer Date: 03 Feb 10 - 04:32 PM I heard today that Jeep Man died about a year ago, after a long illness. I don't know any other details. May he rest in peace. He was a good man. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: JEEP MANS WIFE'S ANNIVERSARY From: wysiwyg Date: 03 Feb 10 - 05:00 PM Thanks, Joe. Please change the thread title. ~Susan |
Subject: RE: Obit: JEEP MAN (2009?) From: Joe Offer Date: 03 Feb 10 - 05:05 PM Yeah, I suppose a thread title change is in order. I didn't start a new thread because I didn't know much information. Jeep Man last posted in 2005. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Obit: JEEP MAN (2009?) From: wysiwyg Date: 03 Feb 10 - 07:37 PM I was in touch with him some via email after that but it has been quite awhile. He was so proud of the work he had done. I doubt I can fish up the old emails (several old puders ago), but if I find them I'll post some excerpts-- he'd like that. I may have a home address for him in there as well and if I do, I'll indicate it here-- so people can PM me about sending his widow a card. ~Susan |
