is there a way to look for artists rather than song titles?

Type the songwriter's name (eg "guthrie") where it says "DigiTrad Lyrics search". That should work as long as the songwriter's name was included when the song was posted. You will get some junk, but that's normal with any search.

Put the songwriter's name in the Digitrad and Forum search. This will bring up threads that contain discussions as well as lyrics that are not in the DT.
