There are several versions of this song. The one in the DT appears to be a conflation. The one that Blake does is basically Uncle Dave Macon's version. The lines you are after:

Oh, the sausages are marked, if you touch one it will bark
They are relics sent from Bingen on the Rhine

Blake has tidied up Uncle Dave's grammar a little here, but the purport is the same.

On Norman Blake's CD Flower From the Fields of Alabama there's a song called All Go Hungry Hash House. There's one line I can't make out. Does anyone know it? It goes:

Oh the sausages are marked, if yo touch one it will bark They're really sent from ..... (something something)

Where are they sent from? Thank
