Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Jack of the green From: nutty Date: 25 Jun 02 - 05:45 PM Hi Martin .... glad to meet you on Mudcat .... you should be telling people what wonderful songs you have written and how they could buy them all in a great songbook. |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Jack of the green From: Barry Finn Date: 25 Jun 02 - 09:52 PM Do a search using Martin's name &/or Jack in the green there's quite a bit. To his credit his song has been thought by many for some time (myself included) to have been trad. Malcom if he is to modest you where spot on in your post. Martin, thanks for dropping in here, your song has caused some stir here & elsewhere, & all of it seems to have done you proud. Barry |
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Jack of the green From: Martin Graebe Date: 25 Jun 02 - 10:59 PM Thanks for the nice things said - it has been interesting to watch 'Jack' become 'traditional'! But there is nothing as queer as the folk process! Anyway, it WAS written a long time ago. If I hadn't been jet-lagged after returning from California (Sun! Micky! Wine! Beer! - the last two of the Firestone variety! lovely! Oh, and I did attend a conference as well) I might have immodestly mentioned the song-book - I have just done another print run. Available from me for the likewise immodest sum of £7 + £1 postage UK (lets say £2 USA). Enough of this commercial stuff - I am now awake at four in the morning and have ambitions not to be Martin |
