It's a really good "singers" festival .... highly recommended. Unfortunately I will be at home .....can't cope with a festival every weekend

Yes we are going - See you there.!!

Last year was excellent and this year the list of performers/singers is again of the highest quality.

I'm planning to drive up tomorrow for the weekend. Mind you, I'm wondering if I should take the coward's way out and look for a B&B rather than camp. I'm told the nights might get pretty cold this weekend!

Another excellent & well organised local festival.

My highlights were Alistair Anderson performing on concertina and small-pipes (not at the same time!), Niamh Parsons, Tim Laycock, Dick Miles, Nick Caffrey, Nick Hennesey & Janet Russell's ballad session, sing arounds with Dave Webber& Anni Fentiman and Graham & Eileen Pratt's harmony workshops.

Concert brilliantly concluded with Quartz, Alistair Anderson & Tanglefoot.

Regret that Julie B, John Routledge and self didn't get round to playing our instruments together - we just ran out of time.

Bob & Sue vG

Glad it went well, I was out of the country or I'd have been there again. Last year was indeed excellent for singers; workshops, singarounds and concerts, but I would have liked an opportunity for a late-night sing- was there one this year? Last year, we were thrown out of the school at midnight and sent to bed...!

It was an excellent festival marred only by the weather - cold and wet. Highlights for me were Dave and Annie and the ballad session,

I heard a rumour that Peter Bond made an unofficial appearance - did anyone see him?

Peter certainly did make an appearance - right in the middle of Clive Pownceby meets Tim Laycock and Mark Dowding! It was great to see him after so many years and Clive even persuaded him to give us a couple of songs and although Pete was a little reluctant to do that, once he'd practiced out of the room, got into his stride and seventeen years just rolled away (that's the last time he performed any of his songs in public). Hopefully it won't be seventeen years before we see him again. He did explain to us his reasons for giving up performing - one of which was a bit of a surprise but I'm not at liberty to discuss that here! He's lost none of the humour that came through in his performances by the way.
