I'm sure many on the Mudcat have been involved either directly or, through organised events, with Stan Robertson. I have learned today by phone that Stan very recently passed away in Crosshouse hospital, Kilmarnock. Stan never was, as far as I know, a musical performer. He was, however, an avid fan of folk music, and for many years was the leading light in the organisation of the Marymass folk festival in Irvine, Scotland. Like many others, I am greatly saddened by the news of his death. Stan suffered a stroke some years back, and had been confined to a wheelchair. All sympathy to his good Lady, Jean, and his three daughters. Stan will be missed. Boab

I am sorry to hear about Stan passing away. I stayed with Stan and Jean in 1976 during the Marymass Folk Festival.
