MMRF's website has come a long way since I first posted a link in 2002. You can listen to MP3's of all, or nearly all of the artists they support now, and there is a long list of them. They have also branched out a bit from straight blues, tho' that is still the main focus.

Check it out!

Janie

There is a good article today in the Raleigh N&O on Tim Duffy and the work of the foundation.

Music Makers Relief Foundation (MMRF)has apparently been around awhile, but I had never heard of it, and nothing came up when I searched the Forum, so thought I would pass this along. I just read about MMRF in my local weekly paper. The people who run it have recently moved to my area. This is an organization that provides very basic help to older blues artists, as well as recording their music. I'm not talking about the guys (and gals) who made it big. I'm talking about the people they learned from. Check the foundation out at www.musicmaker.org. If you are familiar with the organization and their work, it would be good to hear your assessment.

Thanks,

Janie
