Hmmm. I think there's a problem because the phrase "Shamrock Shore" is common. In the Digital Tradition, we have Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore (click) and Shamrock Shore (2). And then I found the lyrics below at this site (click), but I notice that Pene Azul has alread posted them here (click).
Also take a look at the lyrics Liam's Brother (Dan Milner) posted in the Erin's Shore thread.
-Joe Offer-

Shamrock Shore

Ye brave young sons of Erin's isle
I hope you will attend a while
To the wrongs of dear old Ireland I'm going to relate
'Twas black and cursed was the day
That our Parliament was taken away
And all our grief and suffering commences from that day
Our hearty sons and daughters fair
To other countries must repair
And leave their native lands behind in sorrow to deplore
For to seek employment they must roam
Far far away from their native home
From that sore oppressed island that they call the Shamrock Shore

Now Ireland is with plenty blessed
But the people they are sore oppressed
All by those cursed tyrants we are forced for to obey
Some haughty landlords for to please
Our houses and our lands they'll seize
To put fifty farms into one and take us all away
Regardless of the widow's cries
The mother's tears and the orphan's sighs
In thousands we are driven from home which grieves our hearts full sore
We are fraught by famine and disease
We emigrated across the seas
From that sore oppressed island that they call the Shamrock Shore

Our sustenance is taken away
Our tithes and taxes for to pay
To support that law-protected church to which they do adhere
And our Irish gentry, well you know
To other countries they do go
And the money from all Ireland is squandered here and there
But if those squires would stay at home
And not to other countries roam
But to build mills and factories here to employ the labouring core
For if we had trade and commerce fair
To me no nation could compare
To that sore oppressed island that they call the Shamrock Shore

John Bull he boasts and he laughs with scorn
And he says that Irish man is born
To be always discontented for at home he cannot agree
But we'll banish discord from our land
And in harmony like brothers stand
To demand the rights of Ireland let us all united be!
Our Parliament and College Green
For to assemble 'twill be seen
And happy days in Erin's isle we soon will have once more
Then dear old Ireland soon will be
A great and glorious country
And peace and blessings soon will smile all 'round the Shamrock Shore!

From: GUEST,ceoltoir

I know the first verse is :

Farewell there Erin's native isle for here I cannot stay
As I do intend to cross the sea bound for Amerikay
To leave the land that gave me birth it grieves my heart full sore
Then fare thee well my loving friends around the shamrock shore.

Looking for the rest!

HELP!

On the CD, who is the song credited to, i.e. is it a new composition?

Bohola's under-construction website (click here) might be some use in the future, but otherwise it looks like you'll be transcribing the words off the CD for yourself...

There's a version of this in (amongst other places) Colm O'Lochlainn's More Irish Street Ballads, I'll post it a bit later

Here is the version from O'Lochlainn. It's the same song, but not necessarily the same version (there are a few sources for it).

Mick

THE SHAMROCK SHORE

Farewell dear Erin's native shore, For here I cannot stay,
As I do intend to cross the sea, bound for Americay
To leave the land that gave me birth, It grieves my heart full sore,
Then fare-ye-well, my loving friends, Around the shamrock shore.

As our ship she lies at anchor, boys, Now ready for to sail,
May heaven protect each passenger With a sweet and pleasant gale,
And when I'm on the ocean, You will run in my mind,
Then fare-ye-well, old Ireland, And all I left behind.

The tears roll gently from my eyes, My heart's oppressed with woe,
Thinking from old Erin's Isle I am compelled to go.
"Dear friends", says I, "be not afraid, I'll do whate'er I can,"
And looking round I gave a sigh, Saying "Good bye to Ireland,"

Farewell, my aged parents, From you I now must part,
Likewise my tender grandfather- I'm sure 'twill break his heart,
But to part from you, old Erin's Isle, It grieves me more and more,
Then here's good health and all success Around the Shamrock shore!

Now to conclude and finish, friends, I've not much more to say-
I wished I was safe landed there, All in Americay.
A wanderer, I've to cross the sea But fortune may prove kind,
And my toast will be, so far away, To all I've left behind.

And the tune:

Fare-/well dear Er-ins/ na-tive shore, For/ here I can-not/ stay,
As I/ do in-tend to/ cross the sea, bound/ for A-mer-i-/cay
To/ leave the land that/ gave me birth, It/ grieves my heart full/ sore,
Then/ fare-ye-well, my/ lov-ing friends, A-/round the sham-rock/ shore.//

2. 2806 c.8(157) (and two other copies). A much-admired song called The Irishman's farewell to his country -- bound for America ("Farewell, dear Erin's lovely isle, for here I cannot stay ...")
Printer: Haly (Cork)
Date: 18--
Imprint: Haly, Printer, South Main-St, Cork

3. 2806 c.8(121). A new song called The Irishman's farewell to his country ("Far[e]well dear Erin's lovely isle, for here I cannot stay ...")

G'day Masato,

Thanks for those links ... this song seems to have a few Australian descendants, so it's interesting for me to see the broadsides.

The song I as looking for is sung by the Irish Rovers on their Upon a Shamrock Shore CD and begins
From Londonderry we set sail, all on the eighth of May.

It seems I will have to play the song while writing down the lyrics, using the pause button. With the lyrics to so many other songs on the Internet that should just be considered a small inconvenience.

There are lots of variants of the song you're looking for. A good starting point is in the Digital Tradition - Click here . While the Irish Rovers version may differ slightly from that, it will make transcription from a recording easier!

Come back here if you have any problem.

Chorus:
And it's up with the anchor
   As the angry bellows roar.
We'll drink a toast to the times we had
   While on the Shamrock Shore!
