Subject: Kinship? Wanabe Sailors From: GUEST,Nick Date: 08 Jul 02 - 02:42 PM I have a recording of a tune I was told is called Wanna be Sailors, by a band called Kinship. I am trying to find what album it is from, or any reference to it for that matter. I do a Google search for lyrics from the song and get notthing! The 'sailors "live in the highlands, surrounded by mountains, we carry the spirit, but we don't have a boat, and if we did who would be captain, and if we did where would we go?..... (and) we'll dance with the lasses who'll come by the masses, if we never reveal that we dont have a boat ...etc" Funny tune, I just cant figure out where it comes from, and so who do I turn to the catters, ring any bells? Nick wanna be lots of things! |

Subject: RE: Kinship? Wanabe Sailors From: Anglo Date: 18 Oct 08 - 02:39 AM Ha. Not only does their website only give the option of the third CD, when you follow that link, it is listed as unavailable! So all their CDs seem to be unavailable. Jim Lad, since you're such a close friend, why don't you look into this and let us know why an interested person can't acquire ANY of their CDs? |

Subject: RE: Kinship? Wannabe Sailors From: GUEST,Rob Date: 20 Aug 20 - 08:35 AM I have been looking for a band called Kinship that my best friend and I would listen to as kids. I am hoping this is the same band, and even this many years later they can still be heard. Please make some copies of their CDs and mail them or digital downloads, cheers all for working on this. email is crazyrjh gmail, if you do check back again. I'll try to keep an eye out for an email. Subject: RE: Kinship? Wannabe Sailors From: GUEST,Mush Date: 11 Nov 21 - 07:55 PM Saw this band in Fraser Lake, BC many years ago, maybe late 90s? Understood some band members were from there, but I think they are now considered a Kelowna band. Bought the cd and played it quite a bit. Love Wanna be Sailors and their version of I Will Go. The album was called First Born. My kids can actually sing a couple of their songs, so the next generation is enjoying them! |
