May I be the first to welcome me old mate Mick from Punch the Horse, who has finally relented and joined the Mudcat as Ossonflags. Enjoy your stay and one word of advice - don't post any drivel.

Welcome!

I've just looked in the Mudcat Locator and there's only one person from Hull. Funny, I thought there was more than that ...

no drivel in a 'welcome to new member' thread? That makes it difficult for most of us to post. Very difficult. Of course - sound advice for a new member wouldn't be drivel, now would it?

Having unburdened myself of that thought (it was weighing heavy on my mind - crushing the life out of my last remaining brain cell)

WELCOME!

When I repot a plant, I always drivel water all over it, so what's the problem?

Welcome, Ossonflags! (What's an Osson?)

Why is it that people who are 'announced' in this way, hardly ever manage to make more than a couple of posts before disappearing?

An observation as opposed to a judgement.

There you go Mick, your cut-out-and-keep challenge from guest. Please make sure that you make lots of postings to stop me from feeling foolish for announcing you. Remember that this does not give you license to flaunt the no-drivel rule, however. Keep your guard up, as I have had my legs criticised here, and I know how that feels. You were magnificent tonight, by the way.

ossonflags velkommen!

luckily you've chosen a name that can't readily be confused with anything else.

quote from 'guest' above:

'Why is it that people who are 'announced' in this way, hardly ever manage to make more than a couple of posts before disappearing?

when i first joined, there was an enormous kerfuffle over my mr happy.

cheers

mr h

Thanks everyone, be assured I will continue to drivel/ contribute( usually in the key of G or possibly A minor on a good day) as I have done in the past as guest mick/punch the horse.

Oakley, thanks for the big build up, magnificent,I like that. That smoke machine was good wasnt it? what say we invest in one for the future? The possibillities for the purples and dwyle flonkers are endless.

see you in church (Holy Trinity that is)with or without smoke machine.

There is still a small prize being offered for the first person to guess what "ossonflags" means.Les, being a 'ull lad you just might get this.

Hello Ossonflags

Ignore the bit about drivel.

Read and inwardly digest, (a painful and unattractive process) all the advice you are given about trolls.

By the way, Radio Humberside has the best Folk programme I've heard since Harry Ogden's 'Folkspan' on Manchester local radio.

Well done.

Welcome from "across the pond" in the beautiful Mid-Atlantic state of Pennsylvania!! (Despite the name "Mid-Atlantic", Pennsylvania is not actually IN the pond... *G*)

Enjoy!
