Yes, by golly...the new William Shatner autobiography is still available in hardbound first edition! I went to W.H.Smith Books in Orillia Square Mall today to check, and there were 6 of them on the shelf, marked down from $35 something to only CDN $6.99!!! That's less than $5 US dollars!

Incredible that literature so great could be had for so little...

Nice photos too.

One desperate Mudcatter has already PM'd me to pick him up a copy. I trust that others may do the same.

Now here's the really good news...I talked to the staff at the bookstore, and they've got a whole whack of these Shatner books in the back. Scads of them. Strange, isn't it? Anyway, it looks like there are enough of them still available to satisfy probably all his great fans here on Mudcat.

Enjoy, enjoy! If you are one of those who simply MUST own the book "Get A Life", and you can't find it at this great price in your own hometown, by all means let me know, and I'll try to help out as best I can.

I'm not doing it for the money, I'm doing it at cost...simply because I regard it as a privilege to spread the Shatner Legend far and wide.

But it's true. The book really is there, and one Mudcatter really has asked me to mail him a copy of it. God's truth! If I had not walked into that bookstore on Friday and seen the book I would not have made a peep about Shatner. I've had my mind on other things of a much more serious nature lately...like life after death, and definitions of "God", and all that.

You surely don't expect me (with my history of Shatnerizing) to walk into that bookstore, see that book, and say NOTHING on Mudcat about it, do you?

Okay, here's the deal. This thread is the last one I will launch about that book. I have done my duty and that's good enough.

LOL! Thanks, Khandu! I think Nigel is British. Why? Because Nigel is a quintessentially British name. We've been through that on another thread recently about names, USA & British. If he is British, he would probably pronounce "law" as "lawr", I believe, in which case it goes well with sure and war... :-)

LH: I wouldn't pronounce 'law' as 'lawr'. None of the three rhyming words appear (to me) to require a 'rolled' 'r'.

Ah, yes, I see...

But don't some British pronounce words like "saw" and "law" as if there was an "r" on the end of them...depending on what word is following...

As in Al Stewart singing "I sawr a black cat..." or whatever...
