Subject: ADD: Smiles (Callahan & Roberts) From: Joe Offer Date: 13 Apr 22 - 03:19 PM SMILES (J. Will Callahan & Lee S. Roberts) [Verse 1] Dearie, now I know Just what makes me love you so, Just what holds me and enfolds me In its golden glow; Dearie, now I see ‘Tis each smile so bright and free, For life’s sadness turns to gladness when you smile on me. [Refrain] There are smiles that make us happy, There are smiles that make us blue, There are smiles that steal away the teardrops As the sunbeams steal away the dew, There are smiles that have a tender meaning That the eyes of love alone may see, And the smiles that fill my life with sunshine Are the smiles that you give to me [Verse 2] Dearie, when you smile Ev’ry thing in life’s worthwhile, Love grows fonder as we wander Down each magic mile; Cheery melodies Seem to float up on the breeze, Doves are cooing while they’re wooing In the leafy trees. [Chorus] Detroit, New York: Jerome H. Remick & Co. (1918) https://digitalcommons.conncoll.edu/sheetmusic/1270/ |

Subject: RE: Help: Smiles From: Joe Offer Date: 13 Apr 22 - 07:56 PM Bless her soul, but Sorcha and many others posted links to crap lyrics in the early years of Mudcat Although the lyrics in this particular link Sorcha posted are accurate, they are not documented as to source. We leave these links as posted in case anybody wants to research them, but we certainly don't want them repeated. Over the years, we have worked hard to replace those crappy links with actual links from documented sources. |
