Having been mentioned in one of the Mudcat CD threads, I bookmarked www.mixonic.com for later use.

Finally got around to uploading all of my brother's symphonic and classical piano music and put together a CD through Mixonic, for his birthday. I don't know beans about recording, mixing, etc. but I had broadcast quality (pre-digital) live concert recordings to work with and knew how to convert them to mp3's. (Thanks JP!)

Mixonic makes it easy. I designed the cover of the CD, printed right on there, not a label; uploaded the tracks; and, just received the first batch of 10, count 'em a whopping ten CD's!*bg* Other than quality which I can do nothing to enhance and the fact that I had the volume too high on the last piano suite, which I can redo, I am pretty happy with this first endeavour.

You can order any quantity from one on up; you can upload your own artwork; and, now, you can also sell your CD's on your own page at their site with a profit of $2.55 per CD priced at $6.55. I haven't explored it completely, but I sure did find it a lot easier to do than mp3's site.

I am thinking of doing one with my dad's "cow songs," now, as it was so easy and fun to do. Check it out!

Thanks,

kat

yupm - I noticed that a couple days ago and posted about it in the MudCat CD thread. They were not offering online sales when Amos first pointed them out.

I'd say it's the way to go with the Mudcat CD..sure would save a lot of "who's going to store, package, label and ship..." problems and the price is affordable so that we oculd buy them as gifts, too.

Thanks, MMario, I'd missed that.

Thanks, Kat: When it's ready, I'll probably try a few copies of the Gospel Messenger CD. It may even encourage me to do another folk CD of my own stuff that I've never recorded..
