It sounds a lot like "Lavender's Blue," but I saw the movie and don't recall hearing that song.

If Northam is playing Ivor Novello, then presumably it will be Novello's own songs that he sings. Try googling for Ivor Novello.

I don't know if it will help, but there is a soundtrack album available, so if you go to a CD retail site like Amazon.com you can read the track listing and see if the song you want is on it (assuming you recognise it from the title).

I believe that was IVOR Novello. In the film, it's the first song Northam sings when he sits down to the piano.

Is anyone familiar with a song sung by Jeremy Northam as Ivan Novello in the film "Gosford Park?" It was something like "If I were your king, you'd be my queen." It sounded Porterish or from the '30's. Might it have been a popular song? Recorded by someone? Thank you.
