Subject: The Case Of The Missing Thread From: Bullfrog Jones Date: 29 Jul 02 - 07:14 AM I'm puzzled....there was a thread last week called 'Where are the cool tunes?' bemoaning the lack of good downloadable ring tones for mobile phones. I chucked in a reply about composing your own, and promptly forgot about until today, when I was looking at the list of threads to which I'd contributed and thought I'd check back on that one. And it's not there. The standard stuff about what to click to go where is all there, but not the links to the thread itself. So I reset the search time period for the forum to seven days and then fourteen and it's not there at all. But I know I replied to it on the 22/7. So what happened? Did it turn violent, or vitriolic and have to be forcibly ejected? Did the original poster realize that they'd posted to the wrong site and ask to have it removed? It's not a big deal in the great scheme of things, but it's piqued my curiosity, and I've just wasted half an hour searching for it and writing this! Any suggestions as to what might have happened? Subject: RE: BS: The Case Of The Missing Thread From: Giac Date: 29 Jul 02 - 08:48 AM When I searched on your name, the thread is listed, but when I clicked on it, I got the following error message: Error Diagnostic Information ODBC Error Code = 23000 (Integrity constraint violation) [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]INSERT statement conflicted with COLUMN FOREIGN KEY constraint 'FK__Trace__Thread_ID__3064E2BE'. The conflict occurred in database 'mudcatprod2', table 'threads', column 'Thread_ID'. See, it says it is a matter of "integrity constraint violation." We always knew there was integrity in these threads. Now we know there are constraints, and, apparently, someone was found in violation (I'm shocked) and the integrity police's SWAT team swooped in and wiped out the whole thing; never left a trace, never even offered a kiss ... Okay, okay. I don't get it, either. ~;o)

Subject: RE: BS: The Case Of The Missing Thread From: Jeri Date: 29 Jul 02 - 09:37 AM Giac clicked on "Add thread to tracer." Ain't no thread. It was blatant spam (someone advertising a website flogging different rings). The last time I saw the thread, discussion hadn't gotten much farther than "I programmed my own" and "this is spam"/"yes, I agree it's spam." |

Subject: RE: BS: The Case Of The Missing Thread From: Bullfrog Jones Date: 29 Jul 02 - 11:12 AM Yes Giac, I tried the same thing and discovered that my integrity had been constrained and violated, and I never felt a thing! Thanks Jeri, I thought it was probably a plug. So did the elves take it away in the night? Thanks for the link Kat. I know you've listened to 'Mexico Is Calling To Me' on my IUMA site --- that's what I use as a ringtone. It always attracts attention, and I always know it's my phone that's ringing! @@ (~~) |
