Thought 'catters might like to pause and remember for a few moments the actress Marilyn Monroe, the 40th anniversary of whose death occurs today (August 5th). I learned of the sad fact from a taxi driver in central London. She was one of my favourite entertainers and who knows what she might have produced had she lived. The mystery of her death still intrigues people - did she jump or was she pushed? Always remembered with affection.
