Subject: RE: Lyr Req: For The Lights Shining Brightly ?? From: Inukshuk Date: 24 Jan 08 - 07:20 PM I've searched for a long time for more information on Harvey June Van and the original words to this song. I must have listened to it a hundred times on the jukebox down at the old malt shop. There doesn't seem to be much new data available. I remember the first two lines of the second verse as: Now I'll no longer be a burden, And so my loss will be your gain |
Subject: Lyr Add: LIGHTS ARE GROWING DIM (Harvie June Van) From: GUEST,joanne lang Date: 29 Nov 09 - 12:06 PM harvie june van recorded this on king records in 1958,it's called the lights are growing dim. For you, the lights are brightly shining. For me, the lights are growing dim, And I can hear my maker calling From the pearly walls within. I know you've always loved another. My chance for happiness is slim. For you, the lights are brightly shining. For me, the lights are growing dim. Now I'll no longer be a burden, And so my life will be a game, And I'll no longer need your love, dear, 'Cause where I'm going, there is no pain. God has taken all my troubles 'Cause he knew I couldn't win. For you, the lights are brightly shining. For me, the lights are growing dim. |
