My husband and his father sing this ditty...
Oh, I met her at the garbage picker's ball
I met her at the garbage picker's ball.
She had corns and a bunion and smelled like spanish onions.
Oh, I met her at the garbage picker's ball

Has ANYONE ever heard where this comes from???

Is this likely to be another version of the charladies ball which I've heard sung at Chippenham in the admiral's bear essential sing?

There once was a man named Joe
Who had very crusty toes
He had corns and bunions
That smelled like onions
And that's how the story goes

My father sings this song too. It was a little ditty that soldiers in WWll would sing. I'm not quite sure if what you have there is the whole song, or just a verse.

I know a lassy she's smelly but she's classy
and I met her at the garbage pickers ball.
She had calluses, corns and bunions
and she smelt like spanish onions
Oh I met her at the garbage pickers ball.
