A friend of mine is planning to write a book on ornimentaion currently in use on the smallpipes. Any one like to contribute by saying how and what they do? Also anyone tell me how to cran?

The latest reprint of Volume One of the Norhumbrian Pipers Society Tunebook has removed the vast majority of ornamentation from the notation to give the piper more freedom - but not necessarily more ornamentation :0)

May be able to provide more info later.

I prefer not to see ornimentation written down but my friend wants to help people learn how to do it, so as to expand the choice people have and to move away from the highland gracings

I think the Gallecian pipes have the best ornamentation, very few others take the time and effort to beautify their pipes, unless you count those tartan tassles on war-pipes :-)
