Subject: White blues singer named Walker
From: Morrie

I caught part of an interview on the radio traveling through northern Alabama or southern Tennessee about two years ago. The subject of the interview was a white blues singer with the last name of Walker (I think). I have been unable to find any information about him since then and would like to know more about him. Does anyone know who this mystery man might be?

There is a blues singer/guitarist named Phillip Walker ("She's got a big rear window, with both her shutters open wide...") He's very good, but I don't know what color he is.

Dr. John Walker is from Oklahoma, originally, I believe, as mentioned in his music ...from a former student.

Might have been Barry Walker, lives in Brighton , England, did a couple of sessions for the BBC about 10 or 15 years ago, played a Gibson, once was approached by Pink Floyd, since gave up because he said he wasn't getting any better.

Just as unlikely to be Eddie Walker from NE GB, works with John James as a duo (Carolina Shout it's called, but Cambridge's about as far as they go).

I once had a CD of his; Philip Walker is a black singer/guitarist. I love that tune. It's too suggestive with sexual undertones to play at some venues.

Toby Walker? He's in the NY area. And then there is Walker T. Ryan out here in Oregon.
