nice to have a channel changer. I have some leftover pizza from a place called Pudgies. I know I'm a relative newbie, so, as someone pointed out on another thread, this topic's been covered. but here goes anyway! :) I like jalapeno peppers, bell peppers, Italian sausage, fresh mushrooms, and pineapple on my pizza - not necessarily altogether, but those are my favorite ingredients. I can't stand onions though. And Pepsi sucks big time. Diet Coke forever. ;~)

According to Andy Rooney, Pepsi and Coke have exactly the same ingredients. He read them off one night on 60 Minutes.

I like to ask them to hide ONE anchovie somewhere. One's enough. And you should see the look on my wife's face if she finds it...

Andy Roony knows best (?) Definitey they don't taste the same.

"No Anchovies Please" is a cool song by the J.Geils Band. one of those Pythonish-Mickey Spillane tales.

Pepsi and Coke may have the same ingredients, but I doubt that they are in exactly the same proportion. I know the diff, anyway.

As for Pizza...I am most likely allergic to wheat, so there goes my involvement. However, when I was in blissful ignorance of my allergy, I liked lots of sauce, less cheese, onions, black olives, and pineapple.

Meat. Meat. Lots of different meats. Except for Canadian Bacon. Then plenty of cheese to hold it all together, flavored with ample onion and garlic. And make it a thin crust, please.

Lots of sauce....and a yeasty/crunchy crust. Not something that looks like KFC-knockoff biscuits.

Subject: Lyr Add: COLD PIZZA FOR BREAKFAST (Christine Lavin
From: harpgirl
Date: 17 Aug 02 - 11:37 AM

Here's a song for you Hippie Chick!

Cold Pizza For Breakfast

Words and Music by Christine LavinMusic ASCAP & Happy Valley Music BMI Copyright 1986, Palindrome Records, Philo

COLD PIZZA FOR BREAKFAST
(Christine Lavin)

Some people eat grapefruit for breakfast
Some people eat oatmeal
There are those
Who are sure
Granola is a very good deal
But not me

I don't go for that stuff
When it comes to nourishment
I get more than enough
Nothing satisfies my taste
Then sittin' down to a great big plate of

Cold Pizza for Breakfast
Warm Coke to wash it down (Ahhhhh)
Maybe a couple of anchovies
Make this meal well rounded
I want Cold Pizza for Breakfast
And a pinch 'o cold spaghetti will do
But there's nothin' in the world that I like better
than
Eatin' Cold Pizza with you.

My man takes me out for the evening
He treats me so nice
We go to the movies
We go dancing
We go for more than a slice
Yes we order a pie
We eat what we can
We take the rest home
That's part of the plan
And in the morning when sun rise
He sees that crazy look in my eyes

I want Cold Pizza for Breakfast
Warm Coke to wash it down (Ahhhhh)
Maybe a couple of onion rings
Make this world go round
I want Cold Pizza for Breakfast
And a pinch 'o cold spaghetti will do
But there's nothin' in the world that I like better than
Eatin' Cold Pizza with you

Herman Tarnaur would never approve
I can hear him (I can hear him - I can hear him)
Spinning in his grave
He could be alive eating pizza right now
Except for when it came to dating women
The good doctor did not know how to behave
ya ya ya
Herman was healthy
But Herman is dead
(Pizza surely didn't do him in)
A Pizza surely didn't do him in
(Pizza surely didn't do him in)
Jean Harris is behind bars
Lookin' quite sad
And think, do you see what I'm gettin' at
You tend to kill when you're skinny
But not when you're fat

So gimmie Pizza for Breakfast
Warm Coke to wash it down (Ahhhhh)
Maybe a couple of pepperoni
Make this girl well round, ah
Give me Cold Pizza for Breakfast
And a pinch 'o cold spaghetti will do
But there's nothin' in the world that I like better than
Eatin' Cold Pizza with you
Nothin' in the world that I like better than
Eatin' Cold Pizza oh oh oh
Nothin' in the world that I like better than
Eatin'
Cold Pizza
With you.

It's one of Nathan and my favorites!

Cold Pizza for Breakfast

(I once ate a pizza in the original Pizza Hut [Wichita, KS, 1958]..none of those thick, gooey crusts for ME...and just cheese, meat and sauce, please)

The first Pizza Hut (Note the PEPSI sign! *grin*)

Pizza Hut calls it "meat lovers". Pepperoni, Italian sausage, sliced ham, ground beef and some kind of mystery meat. I expect it satisfies your weekly cholesterol requirements.

I thought Coke used the "residuel white stuff" in their drink up to the 1920s, even than it was only 10% of 1%.

Thin to moderate crust, preferably made in New York City.......Pepperoni, double cheese, Capicola (a lot), black olives, mushrooms, onions, banana peppers, crushed red peppers, anchovies.

Anything less is just about nothing.......

According to various on-line histories of Coke (Altavista search under +"coca-cola" +"coca leaves"), they started using "spent" coca leaves rather than cocaine in 1913.

What's for lunch around here:

Last nights left-overs--warmed up
Turkey, ham or bologna sandwiches.
Chips and dip
Usually some kind of home made pasta salad or potato salad.
Chinese Ramen noodles
Pizza for LUNCH?? Never.
Pizza is reserved for the Friday night after payday.

Cheese and mushrooms. Mozzerella and ground beef and Cheddar on top (Dominoes makes that one, it's the double cheeseburger pizza).

I went into a gourmet pizza place in Manhattan, and they actually put brocolli, cauliflower and eggplant on their pizzas. When I'm king of the world, that nonsense will stop.

I had pizza for lunch today! A slice of pepperoni from Boston House of Pizza. My pal with me used to live here and he always wants to get pizza there as he misses it. It has a thin savory crust, good sauce, lots of real cheese and good fresh ingredients.

I enjoy pizza from Bertucci's too, and like gourmet style wood oven pizzas. Thin crust rules! Some of my favorite toppings include spinach, garlic, mushrooms and broccoli. But I also love plain old pepperoni. Water or beer to drink with it.

Pudgies? from western NY??? My cousins own that business; Pudgie was my dad's cousin and his niece runs the shops now. Or is this another Pudgies' Pizza? I grew up eating this stuff and HATE IT. Thick doughy crust, too-sweet sauce with no seasoning, hardly any cheese; yuck.

Both Pepsi and Coke are improved by some lemon or lime juice.

As for pizza, I like veggies best (though I'm not crazy about olives of any color). One of the best pizzas I ever had was in Maine at the Naples lobster pound -- a loaded pizza with lobster! Fabulous!

Cheers, Nancy

Anything on the pizza, including anchovies, and a nice beer to drink. I also sprinkle some Parmesan cheese and red pepper on it. (the pizza, not the beer)

But yesterday for lunch, I had mixed green salad with roasted red peppers, blueberries, gorgonzola cheese, and a couple teaspoons of olive oil and red wine vingegar.

I mainly don't like Papa Johns and will eat most others, don't mind onions but if I did, I'd avoid any so-called half-onion arrangements, there's no such thing. It all comes out onioned. If there's onion in the vicinity--it finds a way. I believe there is such a thing as Lunch pizza--thin crust and veggied. It's a different thing. Lazy quick-pizza, emergency pizza, is sliced foccacia with sundried-tomato basil spread.

Hippie Chick what was that aol thing about? Can you come back over and just explain it?

Sure Hippie Chick, it was something about aol on my apology/intro thread. I will bid a less than fond farewell to aol today, and you made me curious. I dislike aol merely because it is an empirical example of that radical economic theorum that an inferior product can do well and even dominate a market, but I've heard there are other good reasons. Digression into an economic theory returns to pizza talk by way of aforesaid Papa Johns.

Ha. Bout right. It turned out my free trial only used dial-ups from aol, so I was free of it a month ago. When I called to cancel they gave me 2 more months. Breaking up is hard.

You know what's good? corn in the husk roasted in fire coals. My neighbors don't seem to mind our little pit, though I don't think I'm supposed to do it. Like anchovies, falafel also has to be fresh up, gets mealy thereafter. Is that a cautious G? okay. I am Fred Miller--I was just having fun with Guest because I think I'm so funny! and perceptive! I've never seen this trolling stuff before.
