I don't think Jerry would've minded.

Ripple (Flowed Like Water)
Ripple: w:Robert Hunter;M:Jerry Garcia
Parody by Sonja W. Oates ©2001

[G]    [D7]        [G]                [G7]    [C]
If my head did ring with that jolt of sunshine
                       [F]    [C]                            [G]
And my nerves were frayed like a clock unsprung,
                [D7]         [G]               [G7]          [C]
Could you hear my breath come through the mucus?
       [G]        [D]        [C]                 [G]
As I blew my nose, it sounded like a gun!

[G]    [D7]   [G]         [G7]            [C]
It's a hangover, my thoughts are broken.
            [F] [C]                [G]
Perhaps I'd better stay in bed,
      [D7]        [G]       [G7]           [C]
Well, I don't know, I don't give a damn.
[G]         [D]       [C]                  [G]      [Am]
It was a party, a really swingin' jam!

[Am]                     [D]      [D7]
Ripple flowed like water,
                  [G]                 [C]             [A7]          [D]   [D7]
Now there's many cookies tossed and chunks to blow.

Screw  off the  cap if your cup be  empty,
Your head feels full, and  it will be again,
Let it be known the nausea's a- mountin.'
That wine was  made by one sadistic  man!

Out on the road, I can't see the highway
Between my eyes there's a blur of  light.
And where I walk no one could follow,
That zigzag path is from my steps a lone.

Ripple flowed like water,
Now there's many cookies tossed and chunks to  blow.

Those who booze it  up must wallow,
And if  we  fall, we're drunk or stoned,
But you can stand, and you are still sober--
If you know the way, won't you take me home?

La da da da da
Da da da da da da .... etc.

Good one Sonja!

There must be more Grateful Dead parodies out there... anyone have one?

Cheers,
Michael

Hell, Jerry might've even sung it if he hadn'a kicked the bucket way too soon!

The chords did not stay where I put them in that first post.  Let's try that again.

Hi Sonja - one of the hardest most difficult nearly impossible things to do on the MudCat is get your chords to line up with lyrics.

Yeah, but the chords actually are in the right positions in the above post.

Bwahahahaha!

I just posted about 'Ripple' in the 'songs at your funeral' thread and silly me, I didn't assume "Ripple' was in the Digitrad (it is come to find out), so I posted the lyrics, along with my first choice, For a Dancer. Anyhoo..just fer laughs I searched on Ripple and came up with this thread.

Bwahahahaha!

Love it! There should also be a version about the morning after a Dead Concert when the Acid wasn't quite right, not that I'd know anything about that from firsthand experience, but 'Dave' does I think (the 'Dave' from my Nick)

Maybe Sonja will work on that one. But she's never dropped acid or been to a Dead concert.
