Does anyone have the lyrics to "Glocoat Blues" from Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Stars and Stripes Forever" album.

All I can remember is the chorus:

Woke up this morning
I believe I'll wax my floor
But I'm using that Johnson's Glocoat
I ain't gonna have to wax no more

Yet another instance of the dreaded "I'd get the lyrics off of the album myself, but the ex-wife took that one with her in the divorce" affliction.

Thanks
Bruce

Looked at several sites with lyrics for NGDB lyrics, but no luck. Have found out that the author is Glocoat-Blues (Jimmie Fadden). For others interested in NGDB lyrics, here are three of the sites with their lyrics.

Thanks George

Maybe I'll just make up some words. Or wait until the next time I see John McCuen at a festival and make him sing 'em into a tape recorder.

"Glocoat Blues" appears on The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's album "Stars & Stripes Forever," originally issued as United Artists LP 184J2, 1974, but more recently reissued as Capitol CD 33828, 1995; or Alliance CD 33828, 1996. It is still available at CDNOW.

I listened to the sound sample at CDNOW and transcribed this verse. (The chorus is as given above.)

Mama died and left me--she left me a brand-new mop.
I'm gonna wax the floor, and baby, you know I ain't goin' stop.

GLO-COAT BLUES
(J. Fadden)

I woke up this morning
Believe I'll wax, wax my floor
I woke up this morning
Believe I'll wax, wax my floor
You know I been usin' that Johnson's Glo-Coat
And I just don't have to wax, wax no more

Mama died and left me
She left me a brand new mop
I'm gonna wax the floor and baby
You know I ain't gonna stop

Well, I woke up this morning
Believe I'll wax, wax my floor
You know I'm usin' that Johnson's Glo-Coat
Whoa, I don't have to wax no more

I'll wax in the corners
I'll wax along the baseboard
I'll wax along the refrigerator
You know I ain't gonna wax no more

But I, I woke up this morning
I believe I, I believe, you know, I believe I'll wax my floor
I love waxin' my floor
And I'm using that Johnson's Glo-Coat
Honey, I ain't gonna wax no more.
