Just a wee notice about the Hairst this year. Unfortunately I didnt get a brochure until recently otherwise I would have posted this earlier!

Theres heaps on: Saturday Skirls in some of Angus' towns, Angus folk sessions, ceilidhs, traditional music tasters, top scottish artists, childrens workshops, lectures, open air concerts and more!

Not sure if some of it has past but it'll be on the website when everything is I would think.

Theres also a heritage concert on the 18th of September featuring Jock Duncan, Maureen Jelks, Joe Aitken, Geordie Murison and Shonagh Donaldson (me!)

More info. at the website (dont know how to do a blue clicky!!)

I'll have a look at the website but don't know what my plans are. Is there much in the way of singing sessions going on? By the way, Shonagh, well done on winning both competitions at Keith this year.

For the benefit of outsiders, the word "hairst" is Scots for "harvest"! I've been married to a Kirrie(muir)lass for the last 33 years! (She was at school, Websters!!, with the great Joe Aitken, whom we saw and talked to at the Bothy Ballads Session at Celtic Connections in 2000). Have fun.

Not at Kirrie this year shonagh I'm afraid. Not a big festival fan. Too noisy for my liking. And I only 26!

I'll get my coat,,,

Mj
