The tile must be "Two cents, three eggs and a postcard." Sheet music is in the Kirk Collection:

Title: Two cents, three eggs and a postcard.
First Line: Two cents, three eggs and a postcard is all that I have in the world
Chorus: Two cents, three eggs and a postcard is nothin' worth braggin' about
Music by: Barner, Doris, Mickey Barner, and Larry Vincent.
Words by: Barner, Doris, Mickey Barner, and Larry Vincent.
P/P/D: New York : Robbins Music Corporation, c1949.
Location: SPC, KIRK PS 1948-1951

Red Foley recorded this song in 1949. This info is from HERE (This Day in Country Music History) (Put in "Aug 6"). Cannot find the lyrics.

Thanks to my Net Pal JM for the MP3

TWO CENTS, THREE EGGS AND A POSTCARD
Recorded by: Red Foley

Two Cents, Three Eggs And A Postcard
Is all that I have in the world
But what good are eggs and a postcard
When you haven't got a girl

CHORUS
Two Cents, Three Eggs And A Postcard
Is nothin' worth braggin' about
But one thing for sure and for certain
I'd rather be with than without

The two cents will buy me some kisses
The kind that you get in a store
But what good are two candy kisses
When it's real ones that you're looking for

CHORUS

With a postcard I'd write to my sweetheart
If I had a sweetheart to write
But I haven't got a sweetheart
And I'm all alone ev'ry night

CHORUS

The eggs will go stale in the icebox
With no one to eat them but me
For I guess I never will cook them
For I'm not a cook don't you see

CHORUS

Anyone know where I can obtain this Red Foley song on MP3 form (or any form, for that matter)? I cannot find any reference to it at any of the Red Foley sites.

That is from

There is a link near the top of the page entitled Special Collections. I think you might have some luck there.

Joe I believe that Gene posted these same words to the song 2 cents 3 eggs and a postcard as an add on September 5 2002 so unless it wasn't added it should be somewhere on mudcat Louie Roy
