Hi guys, I have been looking for the words to two songs for the better part of a year now. I guess it's time to ask for help! I am seeking a song with the chorus, "the future is as big and as wide as Dublin Bay, Foghorn cutting like a scythe upon the hay, months will pass you by to the stroke of New Years Day..." The second song I believe was written by Colm Gallagher and recorded by Tommy Makem, but I still can't find. It's called, "If I were a dog". "Singin Yo ho, yo ho If I were a dog I'd have me day, Yo ho, yo ho wouldn't I be waggin me tail" If anyone has them and is willing to share, I would be very grateful! Thanks.... Rock on John P

A portion of Dublin Bay is in this thread, along with some silly comments but no real help. I didn't find anything else on either song. Sorry.

Well, none of the words shown in John P's original message are in the song I'm On My Way To Dublin Bay.

An old thread, but I was looking for a recording of this song online today to share with a friend. Gordon Bok recorded "If I Was A Dog" on his album, 'Because You Asked'. available here: http://www.timberheadmusic.com/detail.html?id=108 There's a sound clip there too. I'd love to hear Tommy Makem's rendition!

Hey Guys, You were a real live saver, well at least a time saver. I was looking all over the internet and you guys had the lyrics to, "If I Was a Dog" by Colm Gallager. Boy what a ridiculous trek around the internet with a half hour of dead ends.
