How did you come by your mudcat 'Handle'? If I came over there and squeezed you, would you squeak? Many happy returns, Chance. |

Think yourself honoured, Micca didn't do that with Joe Offer when he was here a while ago..... Everyone else, thank you for the birthday wishes, but it isn't over yet, I've got at least 2 more presents to come!!! LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday,Liz the Squeak From: GUEST,Chanteyranger Date: 19 Sep 02 - 04:52 PM October, 2001. Micca took me to your place one evening. You offered him a bottle of wine, and he joked "If I want to drink kerosene, I'll drink kerosene!" I got a sample of your famous (and infectious) laugh when I recounted a story of when I was a crewmember on a replica of the Bounty, a young girl looked at me in my baggie whites and said "You know you're wearing a laundry bag?" Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday,Liz the Squeak From: Liz the Squeak Date: 17 Sep 02 - 04:05 PM Oh, Dave, we've done that too... when we moved in, we discovered the foul pipe had slipped. The edge was broken and the sewege was seeping out. This had softened the ground, making the foul trap tip and the foundations slip a little. All was fixed by just replacing the broken pipe and putting a new plastic pipe in place of the old Victorian 2" thick brown glazed clay trap.... which makes an interesting plant holder. The foundations had to be underpinned, and it gives an interesting slant to the dining room, but the smell lingered for a while... and a bit longer... and then the fine weather started.... Seems to be my week for it. I had my hand down a toilet at work this morning, unblocking paper from it. Some people have a strange idea of fun... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday,Liz the Squeak From: Dave Bryant Date: 17 Sep 02 - 04:40 AM At least you only had to clear the U-trap Liz - Linda had me with the foul waste man-hole covers up rodding out the pipes - even after I'd showered and changed there was still "something in the air" around me ! |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday,Liz the Squeak From: Liz the Squeak Date: 16 Sep 02 - 04:59 PM Burp. Spent today fixing the plumbing under the sink. Now I know where all those tealeaves go. I can tell my fortune in tealeaves... you will soon have a concussion if you bang your head on the sink bottom whilst unscrewing the Utrap again. As birthdays are supposed to go on for a week, I've got tomorrow at work to get through - all those people who forgot and went and got me things over the weekend - I know there's at least one bar of chocolate in the offing.... and a dinner treat in 2 weeks time.... never been so happy to get back to work! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday,Liz the Squeak From: Dave Bryant Date: 16 Sep 02 - 07:19 AM Belated best wishes Liz - sorry for being so late, but didn't get onto the 'cat over the weekend because Linda had all sort of jobs for me to do like cleaning out drains, repairing Tom's bedroom window etc, etc - letting her get hold of that whip at Stony went to her head. Anyway enjoy your day off and your chocolate washed down with Begian beer. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday,Liz the Squeak From: Fortunato Date: 15 Sep 02 - 06:09 PM Dear Ms. Squeak. It's been a busy week up here in Honeyville. First we had to put a fresh coat of paint on the outhouse 'cause the Rasmussens were coming. The camoflage paint job didn't turn out to be a good idea. Yellow is better. Then of course we had to evict the ferrets from the Jerry's room. I think Micca dropped the first litter last OCT and they hid in the eaves. Of course the recent shipment of Eufala, Alabama 'shine confused yours truly no end and by the time I figured out how to turn on the !@#$ing computer. I'd missed your birthday. So there you are. Happy birthday anyway. Would it work if I were to give Morticia a huge hug to carry back to the UK to you? All the best, Chance |
