Subject: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: greg stephens Date: 15 Sep 02 - 09:24 PM Is it true if you smell things that arent there, youve got a brain tumour? There's a strange sweet perfumy smell right here where I'm sitting, and its not my hot toddy(bit of a cold coming) and I havent farted. Should I be worried? |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: mack/misophist Date: 15 Sep 02 - 09:29 PM If it persists, see a doctor. This is too complex a subject to seek advice from the man on the street. Anyone here who might know is probably legally barred from saying. |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 15 Sep 02 - 09:32 PM No. Smell belongs to the reptile brain that we all still have hidden under all those newer bits, which is why it's associated so much with inchoate memory. Perhaps you've just remembered something; perhaps it's the cold. You probably have farted, though. |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: Bill D Date: 15 Sep 02 - 09:43 PM "doctor,..you have to help me! I've been having trouble with my memory!" "How long have you had this problem?" "How long have I had what problem?" (I can forget my farts...it's others who remember them!) |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: khandu Date: 15 Sep 02 - 09:47 PM I smell something fishy whenever I hear the latest CNN updates. Maybe it is a brain tumor. I would give you a witty response to your Alzheimers question but I forgot what it was. Maybe my problem has to do with trying to figure your quiz! :-D khandu |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 16 Sep 02 - 02:51 AM Check there isn't an air freshener secreted somewhere... I kept smelling oranges at work, even though there were none around. With thoughts of Stephen King's 'The Shining' going round my head, I was sort of worried.... finally tracked it down to a citrus air freshener that a colleague had secreted down the back of the cupboard and forgotten to tell me about! Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: greg stephens Date: 16 Sep 02 - 04:41 AM Well that's a fine positive thought smallpiper. Are you available for a small retainer to give me morale-boosting pep-talks every Monday morning? Accompanied on the pipes, of course, which effectively raise the spirits and loosen the bowels simultaneously. |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: fogie Date: 16 Sep 02 - 05:59 AM You could also be experiencing a frontal lobe epileptic aura. Think back. Have you had a recent life threatening head injury- don't you know? have you found you have wet yourself and bitten the end of your tongue off, or found yourself driving up the wrong side of a motorway? If any of these ring bells seek more competent help than you will get from a forum-unless you have a www. brainscan. com. uk attachment to your PC. |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: InOBU Date: 16 Sep 02 - 08:11 AM No... but asking medical advice from folksingers IS a sign of a brain tummor. I would, if I where you, order a Sorcha Dorcha CD, (available at InOBU@aol.com) put it on, and if you don't like the music, get a catscan. If they find something wrong with your cat, by the cat it's own CD from the same source. Best of luck, stop wearing perfume, Larry |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: Kim C Date: 16 Sep 02 - 05:59 PM Actually, it could be a ghost. I've read accounts where ghosts were often smelled rather than seen. Is that better or worse than a brain tumor? |

Subject: RE: BS: is it true about brain tumours? From: greg stephens Date: 16 Sep 02 - 06:17 PM I have experienced driving the wrong way up a motorway recently, Fogie, but it was in America and everybody does over there so you just have to go with the flow. And I bit my tongue while eating a rather leathery chop tonight. |
